Seventh Unused Utility Belt | Video, forward dated to after dark

[When the feed clicks on, Cassandra isn't actually in view. Instead, the first thing seen is London at night... from very high up. She's filming mostly for herself, so she can go back and look at London from a thousand feet in the air again, but it seems like a good thing to show the rest of the Barge, too.]

Missed cities. Nothing feels better than... being up high, seeing everything. Wish I had parachute, would jump.

[She turns the camera around to show herself dressed in the batsuit, tugging the cowl off once she's in view.]

Never been to London, so I figure... climb to top of everything. Might never get to, if not now. There's a big clock, might be next. Any suggestions?

Surprise widens her eyes again, and then she grins.]

Merlin, huh? Seems like a good kid.

[Her brow furrows.] ...Dating is probably a bit different where he's from.

We have... a lot that's the same. [Quietly, she adds,] I told him... everything. Growing up, running away, finding you. But he still... likes me.

[Even knowing what she was made for, what she's done, he still cares for her. It's something Cass never really expected from people that weren't from her world, the people she called her family.]

What should I do? On the date.

[Barbara's smile warms, and her fondness for Merlin increases a hundredfold.]

Well - a good date really depends on the ones having it. What they enjoy doing.

A lot of people like to go out to eat, or see a movie, but I think you two - maybe something more interactive. A zoo, or a park, or a carnival.

He said he'd plan. [And really, she's glad because now she doesn't have to worry about picking stuff to do and figuring out how this stuff works.]

[Then her brow furrows, as she taps her lips.]

Well...what do you do together now?

[She saw that! She's hot on Steph's heels when she takes off, but she stays behind her a bit to see how she does. Before, Steph hadn't been great at this. If she has to swoop in to save her, that's worth losing to her again.]

[Yeah, she's got the blankest look ever going on right now.]

[Oh right. That's something she hasn't talked about with Zev before.]

Um... the reason I can't... read, or talk right... never learned words. Was taught... to read bodies. Body language.

[ Gravity is still her worst enemy, but she moves with both an ease that proves she never stopped after she came back from Africa and a delight that promises she still loves this with every fiber of her being.

[She's just blushing a little bit because that's the name the first boy she ever had a crush on called her. Little Bat. It still makes her feel good.]

[For Cass, tea turned into something that meant comfort and she has Alfred to thank for that. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to Cass if Morgana started to think of her that way.]

I ran. [She also didn't bother with climbing, she kind of just slid down the side of the building like a slide. The grapple gun came in super handy when she got close to the bottom, too.]

[Barbara rests her chin on her hand, just looking up at Cass for a moment. It's - it's nice, to see her so happy.]

Holding hands is good. We do that... already, though. But more is... always good.

[Barbara takes Cassandra's hand in both of hers, rubbing her fingers. They could both use a little warmth.]

More is definitely good. And you cherish every moment of it.

That's really impressive though. [She wishes that she could do that, perhaps it would have kept her out of the trouble she had been in.] Body language is as much a language as any other, I think. Just some people don't know it very well.

[It feels so good to see it in her, that Steph's still that same person she used to play this game with before. She knew it, of course, but it's a different thing to see her body telling her all the things it used to.

She catches up quickly, pulls ahead but not so much that she can't still see Steph out of the corner of her eye. But it is tag, so she tags, reaching out to punch Steph in the arm.]

[Dean. Cass follows behind Doyle wishing the same thing, that Dean was here now, to teach her and help her get through losing Tim. But he's coming back. He promised he would.]

Don't know most music. Merlin showed me... the jukebox, in the bar. First time... I really listened to it.

[She squeezes Barbara's hands back, doesn't let them go.]

I do. And he's... different. Powerful. Don't have to... worry about him. Can protect himself.

[Barbara will understand why that's important. It's dangerous to get close to costumed heroes, there will always be someone who will hurt the ones you love to hurt you. Merlin can best every one of them, could probably beat her in a fight too, and it's such a relief to not have to be afraid of that.]
