[Cass has set the communicator up so it points at the large frozen lake in the CES and once she's sure it's recording, she grins and takes a few steps back.]

Watch this.

[Turning away, she runs for the lake and jumps onto the ice, sliding across on her feet. Apparently, she's not letting the lack of ice skates get to her. Once she comes to a stop, she turns back to the camera and starts her way back.]

It's fun! Everyone should... come try. Can let in inmates, if you promise... to be good.

(ooc: feel free to comment with spam if your character is a warden! Cass will let any inmate in so long as she can tell they're not there to cause problems.)

[She's delighted and earnest, and she absolutely means it, though part if her is afraid Cass won't believe her. She isn't used to anyone trusting her or even liking her.]

[Instead of any kind of suspicion or doubt, all Anya gets is a big smile and a nod.]

[The smile, and her own mistletoe-induced cheer, encourage her enough to send that smile right back.]

[Someone is grabbing onto your hand and pulling you toward the lake, Aya.]

[When Anya gets there, she'll find Cass standing just outside the CES brushing snow out of her hair. It's possible she tried to make an igloo and failed completely.]

Give me some skates and maybe I'll consider.

[ Risking her neck, sure. Freezing her toes off? Never. ]

I could ask the Admiral. Or see if I have any in my closet, but they'd probably be too small now.

You don't have... to skate. We can make snowmen? You said... you'd show me.

[Aya trusts her enough to allow the dragging, though her eyes are slightly wide.]

I am not certain about this, Cass.

[She lets go once Aya is on the edge of the lake and steps out onto the ice, then holds her hands out to her.]

I'll pull you. Get you... used to it.

[Tentatively, the young robot allows herself to be pulled out onto the ice. Her sight fixed downward as she watches her mechanical boots slip and slide across the ice, keeping them rigid to avoid losing her balance completely.]

Why would I wish to do so?

[That does look like fun, and Mal has a feeling the Admiral wouldn't give them a lake with thin ice. Not long after Cass airs her invitation he's there, bundled up with wool over leather over wool. He trudges up to the edge of the lake, boots crunching in the snow, and prods at the frozen surface with his toe like a swimmer testing the water temperature.] There room for two over there?

I did, didn't I? Let me put on a jacket, I'll come show you the ways of the snowman.

[Her skating is more a controlled slide than anything else, but it gets her where she's going at least. Once she's coming to a stop nearer him, she grins at him. Someone is having a lot of fun.]

Yes! It's safe. Tested. Jumped on lots.

[Cass goes slow and moves her hands so they're cupping Aya's elbows, giving her something more stable to hold onto.]

It's supposed to be fun. Won't let you fall, don't worry.

Better hurry. Snow might melt.

[He grins back at her and steps solidly out onto the ice, then shuffles further toward the middle. He's dragging his feet, trying to build up the momentum for a good slide like hers but ending up with a little too much speed. He zooms past her with arms flailing.]

How're you supposed to stop?

...alright.

[She continues to watch carefully. Several times, her body jerks one way or the other, threatening to collapse. But Cass holds tight. The minutes pass. She begins to figure the process.]

Am I doing this correctly?

Just wait. Don't- wave arms!

[The arm waving almost always happens before the falling part. She slides up beside him, hands out just in case he needs to grab onto something for balance.]

Also falling. Then you'll stop. Don't recommend, though.

Yes, doing good.

[She could let go, let Aya figure the rest out on her own by instinct, trial and error. That's how she learned, after all.

But that way is a dumb way to learn when you have someone to help you, so her grip on Aya stays firm and she gives her friend an encouraging smile.]
