For Zev, pen that reads stuff.

Arthur, the king one, he gets new sword and these dolls.

Jason gets some magazines.

For Loki, he needs a kingdom and people to rule over.

And Bruce... Bruce gets family portrait. But don't... don't say it's from me.

If it's okay, can everyone else have some food? Everyone should get something...

[Cass has set the communicator up so it points at the large frozen lake in the CES and once she's sure it's recording, she grins and takes a few steps back.]

Watch this.

[Turning away, she runs for the lake and jumps onto the ice, sliding across on her feet. Apparently, she's not letting the lack of ice skates get to her. Once she comes to a stop, she turns back to the camera and starts her way back.]

It's fun! Everyone should... come try. Can let in inmates, if you promise... to be good.

(ooc: feel free to comment with spam if your character is a warden! Cass will let any inmate in so long as she can tell they're not there to cause problems.)

[Cass sees it, that forced control. She wants to tell Anya just to run, kick up the snow, play, but that's too intrusive when they've only just met. She'll just have to encourage it, that's all.

She's close enough when the snow starts coming back down it gets all over, but she just grins, lets it settle in her hair again.]

Yes. Never seen it like this. In cities, gets walked on. Mixes with dirt, turns to mush. Freezes again, makes sidewalk slippery.

This, much better.

I always wanted to see a real city. All the lights, and decorations...but it's hard to beat fresh snow.

[She goes skidding across the ice, weight swaying from foot to foot, and it isn't practiced at all but there's a bit of natural balance to it - she used to skate a bit when she was very small, and her body remembers better than she does. There are some darker memories attached to 'I wanted to see a city', but the mistletoe mist has distanced her from the long frustrations of her confinement, so it's not as marked as it might have been.]

[Cass gets a good run going through the snow before she jumps onto the ice, sliding across it to catch up to Anya.]

Might be a port for one. But might not be... best way to experience.

I know what you mean.

[She's overstating her familiarity, a little, but the tiny shiver isn't from the cold: the Overlook was her introductory and only port.]

But I'd still rather see it than never go anywhere.

[Than stay locked in the same mountain, year after year.]

Yes.

[As bad as they can be, Anya is exactly right. Anything is better than the things Cass came from and she'd rather suffer them with the support of the people she's met here than ever go back to that.]

What do you think... of the barge? Like it?

I do like it. It's another chance, right?

[She doesn't necessarily believe that the Admiral's goals and his stated goals align, but whether he cares about second chances is irrelevant: the Barge is one, for her. And that's what she wants most. Not in a moral sense - she doesn't care about redemption. She just wanted an escape. And this is a better one - so far - than the death she thought was coming.]

Yes. Somewhere safe.

[It's not so much her own safety that Cass worries about. Being here, staying here, means everyone she cares about will always come back if they die. Sure, it's still terrible and it still feels very real, but at least she knows it's not permanent.]

Yeah. Hard to get safer than resurrection, right?

[This is a complete lie. Not being able to die terrifies her, though she's happy enough here that she just tries not to think about it most of the time.]

Exactly. Mostly worried for friends, though.

[But why is she lying, is the question. It's interesting, but ultimately none of Cass' business, so she keeps her wondering to herself.]

Just learned about... snowball fights. Want to have one?

I'm not very good.

[It doesn't sound defensive, but it's the preemptive lowering expectations of someone who has more pride than victories to her name. Pietro always trounced her, of course, and Cass looks far more athletic than she does.]

But if you don't mind, then I'd love to.

[She hopes her family's absence will make it less bitter. Can she just play to play? She wants to, but she doesn't know if she has it in her.]

Not about... being good, or winning. Just want to have fun.

[She bends down and scoops up some snow, balls it up and then hands it over to Anya.]
