Kon gets this movie.

For Zev, pen that reads stuff.

Arthur, the king one, he gets new sword and these dolls.

Jason gets some magazines.

For Loki, he needs a kingdom and people to rule over.

And Bruce... Bruce gets family portrait. But don't... don't say it's from me.

If it's okay, can everyone else have some food? Everyone should get something...

[Cass has set the communicator up so it points at the large frozen lake in the CES and once she's sure it's recording, she grins and takes a few steps back.]

Watch this.

[Turning away, she runs for the lake and jumps onto the ice, sliding across on her feet. Apparently, she's not letting the lack of ice skates get to her. Once she comes to a stop, she turns back to the camera and starts her way back.]

It's fun! Everyone should... come try. Can let in inmates, if you promise... to be good.

(ooc: feel free to comment with spam if your character is a warden! Cass will let any inmate in so long as she can tell they're not there to cause problems.)

[Wait.] ...You don't know how it works, or you've just never put it to use?

[hellofist]

I know... man and woman make baby. That's all.

[silvestris]

If that's all it was about no one would ever do it. You know the mechanics behind it, kid? What goes where?

[hellofist]

[Wait. Wait, give her a minute. There was a really, really embarrassing breach - her first one ever - that she tries really hard to just block out. With a frown, she nods.]

Basics? I think. Don't know... terms.

It's not important.

[You don't have to do this, Selina. Honest. She's fine with never knowing. Mostly.]

[silvestris]

It really is. Especially when the hormones start going and you find yourselves alone. [She'll make Bruce talk to her about it, though. Selina's advice will be bad for any relationship Cass gets into and she knows it.

So she smiles and then nods at the lake.]

Where'd you learn to skate?

[hellofist]

[Yeah that's happened before, back home, but she's always been stopped, most of the time by things trying to kill her. Having a romantic life as Batgirl was pretty much impossible.

But she can see the shift in Selina, the way she moves away from questioning, unbelieving, and just smiles at her and lets them talk about something else. It has Cass smiling too as she reaches for Selina's hand to lead her over to the bench she'd mentioned earlier.]

Here. Just taught myself. It's fun.

[silvestris]

Let's see it.

[Go show off, Cass.]

[hellofist]

[See, Selina? You're already becoming all mom-like. All you have to do now is marry Bruce.]

Okay!

[She really doesn't need any more encouragement than that. She runs for the ice and jumps on, skidding across easily. She's got this much down by now, but there's one part she hasn't tried yet.

She wants to do a backflip.

She turns herself, gathers up speed, and just does it. The flip is clean enough, she manages to get the height she needs and doesn't land on her head, but when she does land, her feet slip. She almost falls, it's precarious for a moment, but when she rights herself she grins over at Selina like she's just climbed a mountain.]

Tada!

[silvestris]

[Selina is usually too bitter and busy to feel much warmth for anyone. Even for Bruce, it comes and goes in intense flashes. But she hadn't been kidding when she'd said Cass reminds her of him; maybe that's why, once again, she's smiling quietly and now applauding for her.]

Do a figure-eight!

[hellofist]

[Clapping is a kind of encouragement Cass isn't used to, so it only makes her grin wider. She knows what a figure eight is, but it doesn't show up much without an actual ice skate to cut the symbol into the ice. Once she's completed it, there's a faint marking of it in the ice, but it's hard to make out. Still, she did it and she didn't fall, so Cass is counting it as a win.

She slides her way back over to Selina and jumps off the ice onto the snow, but doesn't slow herself back. Instead, she's making a beeline for Selina and her arms are opening up. Unless her body language tells her otherwise, Cass has every intention of giving Selina a hug.]

[silvestris]

[What Selina's body language shows is typical of her: unstable. There's a tiny thread of fear in there, and longing. Some curiosity, no small amount of pride--pride in herself, of course, but also some pride in Cass.

She has all but forgotten how to return a hug, but she allows Cassandra to give her one.]

[hellofist]

[With a quiet sigh, Cass tucks her head against Selina's shoulder and just holds on. She hadn't really expected Selina to stop her or push her away, but now that she's there and has her arms around the other woman it feels too nice to let go.]

Excited for Christmas?

[silvestris]

I can't decide. [She sounds a little airy, dreamy. What is it about hugging Bats that does this to her?] Back home, it was Christmas Eve. It feels like I've already done the season.

Has your Bruce introduced you to the idea of Sandy Claus?

[hellofist]

[Bats are just that awesome, that's all.]

No. Saw on TV, though. Big fat man, gives presents. Kind of weird, I think. Breaking into houses... to give things, is okay?

[She shakes her head, because that's just dumb.]

[silvestris]

If you ask the hippies, it all belongs to everyone anyway. [Selina will never find fault with breaking and entering, you know.] Are you going to be exploring the heights all day, or are you going to touch down sometime?

[hellofist]

[You're not supposed to do that, Selina. It's Against The Rules.]

Touch down?

[silvestris]

[Rules are boring and almost always made by someone who doesn't follow them anyway.]

On solid ground. Down here with the rest of us.

[hellofist]

[Yeah, that's mostly true. There's still a few that Cass likes, but she knows not everyone follows them. Not everyone can. She tries to look at it from a case by case basis.]

Oh. Um... maybe? Being with... "rest of us" is hard.

[It's only recently that she's met people who aren't instantly afraid of her, or at least intimidated by the Batgirl side of her. She's still getting used to mingling with normal people.]

[silvestris]

How about just with me, then? [Selina's not a people person, either, fortunately. There are places even in a crowded city to go where they won't be expected to acknowledge or be acknowledged by others.]

[hellofist]

With you... is always good.
