[Cass has set the communicator up so it points at the large frozen lake in the CES and once she's sure it's recording, she grins and takes a few steps back.]

Watch this.

[Turning away, she runs for the lake and jumps onto the ice, sliding across on her feet. Apparently, she's not letting the lack of ice skates get to her. Once she comes to a stop, she turns back to the camera and starts her way back.]

It's fun! Everyone should... come try. Can let in inmates, if you promise... to be good.

(ooc: feel free to comment with spam if your character is a warden! Cass will let any inmate in so long as she can tell they're not there to cause problems.)

The blades? Yes.

Minimizing the surface area makes slipping far less of an issue.

[She looks down again. Her weight was equally proportioned between the two blades. A single, thin point of balance would be significantly more difficult. She recalculated her center of gravity, and made an attempt. Nope, not enough; she had to adjust for the lopsided weight of the lifted leg.]

[When she finally managed to accomplish the task, she glided across the ice for a full 4 seconds before lowering the second leg again.]

It appears to be a balance between proper weight distribution and speed.

[Cass slides to a stop so she can just stare at Aya and not have to worry about running into anything. It's always so fascinating, watching Aya do things, learn them herself. Her body still talks, but it's so different when it's her. It's more to the point, faster, cleaner.

When she gets the one foot thing so easily, Cass smiles at her.]

[Aya looks up in genuine surprise at the declaration. She didn't consider balancing on one foot to be any particularly great feat of accomplishment.]
