[Private text to Bruce Wayne]
[It takes her ten minutes and a lot of staring because what she gets out doesn't look right, but in the end, Cass sends the message anyway. He'll get it a few minutes after midnight.]
Marry Krismiss
Love, Cass
[She doesn't expect him to say anything back, but she can't let her first Christmas pass without saying something to him.]
[When the video turns itself on, instead of an excited Merry Christmas!, the barge gets a shot of Cass sitting in bed in a blank cabin. She's in her pajamas still, hasn't gotten far, and her eyes are red and she's still crying.]
Merlin's gone. [Her voice is surprisingly even, despite speaking through her tears.] Went to bed and... he was here... Now his room is...
[She doesn't really know what to do, to say, but she knows she has to tell people that Merlin has disappeared, gone home. She's not thinking it might seem strange to most people on the Barge that she'd be sleeping in Merlin's bed at all, not right now. With a swipe at her eyes to try to dry them that completely fails, she tries to continue.]
Don't know... if he'll come back. But, he's...
[She doesn't finish. Instead, her hand covers up the camera and there's a few muffled sobs before the feed cuts off entirely.]

[For anyone who wants to go looking for her, Cass is still in Merlin's bedroom, still in his bed, curled up under the blankets. It's not fair that her first Christmas be like this, that she doesn't even have the familiarity of Merlin's room to comfort her. She'll get up eventually, but it will only be to drag some of her things back to the empty room. She has to save it for when he comes back, can't let anyone else move in. If that happens, she really has lost him.]

26/12/12 23:08 (UTC)At home, Alfred always... did this. Brought tea, but it's... the same. Feels the same.
[But wait, what? She lifts her head up to look at him, frowns faintly in her confusion.]
... Sparkle what?

[...yeeeeah that.]
You don't know Sparkle Motion?
Of course she doesn't, she lived in a cave. Dummy.
Remind me to familiarize you with 'em sometime. In the meantime, eat your snowballs.

She picks up the package with one hand and uses her teeth to rip it open, then takes an uncharacteristically small bite out of it. As she chews slowly, tears start to well up in her eyes again for a reason she's not exactly sure of.]
It's good...

29/12/12 12:52 (UTC)Did you somehow put something in there that would make her cry?
What? No, why would I do that.
I don't know. You're you. Who knows why you do MOST of what you do. Are you suuuuure?
No. I mean yes. I mean WHY WOULD I PUT ONION IN THERE. That would completely ruin everything that is good and holy.
Then WHY IS SHE CRYING?
I DON'T KNOW. Stop bugging me.
[He says, looking at her concernedly.]
You okay there, half pint?

29/12/12 18:41 (UTC)[She's overwhelmed, is the problem. Waking up in the empty room was shocking enough, but to have someone there and then sudden they aren't? It's like he might as well have never existed in the first place. She swallows her mouthful of snowball and then wipes at her eyes before looking up at Wade.]
You didn't... have to come. You're a good friend.

30/12/12 03:49 (UTC)...well. He's got friends. Kind of. Multiples. But it doesn't help that nobody seems to like to play with him.]
Sure I did. You were CRYING. And I didn't do it for once. Might not like the guy, but the crying thing's just another thing to add to the list. Two birds, one stone.
Or...something like that.
