People keep showing up, with memories... that don't match up. Happening a lot, lately. Guess it happens... all the time, but... seems like more, now.

[Cass stops a second, not looking into the feed but at something past the comm, jaw clenching and relaxing as she thinks.]

Know I did... something. Or... something happened, to me. Made me... someone people don't like? Or are scared of. Don't know.

[It's a little terrifying, to talk to Tim and see him be relieved she's not whatever she becomes in his future.]

I guess, want advice. Want to know... if you did something... bad, or wrong, would you... want to know? Want someone... to tell you, so you could stop? Or just... let it happen, hope you... do right things?

I would rather know, especially if there's the potential to change the future for the better.

[That's really the option she's leaning towards too, but she's too scared to just take the plunge and ask someone, to really know.]

To try to, at least. Trying to fix it... seems better than hoping. You'd know... what to look for, to stop it.

See it, on every new person... from my world. They're all ahead, they all... they're glad I'm this way. Still like this.

Then I'd want to know. I don't believe the future's written in stone, and I'd rather try to avoid going down that path if I can. Even if it doesn't work, you can at least say you did everything you could.

[For a few long moments, she just watches him. They don't know each other well, hardly at all, but almost everyone she knows trusts him. Or did, before they didn't trust anyone. They trusted him completely and there's nothing in him that says she shouldn't too.]

That might... be worse. Knowing, fighting, and... everything goes wrong, anyway.

I'd still rather try. [His voice sounds heavier, and while a quiet laugh had preceded the statement, there's no humor in it. It's more sad than anything else, not quite defeated, but definitely coming from someone who's had a lot of time and reason to think on this issue.]

[Charles manages a brief smile.] Yes. Quite a lot since I came here, actually. With Merlin, Morgana and Erik, mostly.

[The latter of which being his way of admitting this is more personal than just trying to help Merlin and Morgana figure out a way to make things work when they got home.]

[That's a lot of people and she feels guilty for becoming just one more person with problems for him to try to help when, without a doubt, the others need him more than she does. She has to wonder, does he even have time for himself, after spending so much time on others?]

Sounds like... you need vacation.

As much as I don't like this place at times, I'm still not interested in going home just yet. [Unless the Admiral would let him get away with kidnapping Erik, but he's pretty sure that's never going to happen.]

Me too. More good things here. Lots of chances... to do good things. Worth it, to stay.

Yes. [For now, anyway. As soon as Erik graduated, Charles was fully planning on grabbing him and Alex and leaving.]
