[That doesn't make a lot of sense out of context though, does it? She sighs and her smile fades, dissolves into a look that's somewhere between uncomfortable and just sad.]

[She's truthful almost all of the time anyway, but this is when it becomes clear she's affected by this flood.]

Don't kill him. He's not... worth your time. Deserves a chance. Bad father, bad man, deserves to die, maybe should die, but... deserves his chance, too. Just leave him alone. Don't want people... getting hurt. Love you all too much.

[It's only fair and she's picking up all kinds of hesitation to trust vibes off Lisbeth, so getting it all out there now and giving her the chance to just hang up and walk away seems the best thing to do. She listens to, frowns when she hears the whole story.]

[Cass doesn't mind that this stranger, someone she's only just met, has a grasp on who she is already. It puts them on equal footing and that's a rare thing, something Cass has always hoped for.]

[A pause. A near quirk of her lips.]

Enough. I knew you couldn't read but I'm hesitant to show myself on the network, no matter if it is private or not. You've been taking lessons, and I wondered how well you've progressed.

[Her frustration with the network is... well, it's kind of cute. While Lisbeth's lips only quirk, Cass grins.]

[Lisbeth doesn't reply, but gets her bag and heads up to the deck. She's overall a little uneasy in general, especially in person, but she doesn't feel threatened by Cas. Women in general don't make her as nervous, and although she knows Cas is likely quite the combatant, she knows that she won't do anything to her. Anyway, she's kind of cute, too. Worth the risk.

She approaches the CES, hands firmly shoved in her pockets.]

[Cass is there already, smiles and waves when she sees Lisbeth coming over.]

Got trees again. Get trees a lot. Don't know why.

[Not that she really minds, the CES always seems to find something she likes.]

[Lisbeth looks Cass over with a curious eye, then keeps her gaze focused elsewhere, though never letting the girl leave her sight.

She nods. Of course she did!]

You get trees a lot because it's an ecological imitator. The majority of the world has trees. [A beat.] Other worlds too, likely.

[It's warm inside the CES, comfortable, and it might be obvious that Cass likes it in here.]

Would like buildings, better. Trees are good, if can't... have a city.

[Which reminds her of her building scaling while they were in London and she's sure Lisbeth saw that too. It's kind of nice, knowing she doesn't have to explain things.]

What do you... think of it, here? Whole barge, not just... CES.

[She likes it too. Gears are turning in her head to figure out the most logical explanation for how such an extraordinarily realistic landscape is possible. Then again, there's a lot here that doesn't follow logic. It's frustrating.]

[Lisbeth pulls her hood off and glances around their peaceful surroundings.]

I would rather be dead. [A pause.] Though it is interesting, regardless. Interesting people.

[She dismisses the frown. She isn't trying to elicit those kinds of feelings. She's only being honest.]

[Lisbeth starts walking.] Why did you stop your reading lessons?

[It's easier to let the rest of that go, so Cass just falls into step beside Lisbeth, keeping her body angled so she can read Lisbeth easily.]

Don't see point, anymore. Even if... I learn something, forget it after. Plus... pretty sure I get murdered, back home.

[And what's the point in putting forward all that effort, wasting all that time, when she'll lose all the hard work anyway after Shiva kills her?]

[The murder part gets Cass a direct look. A look that flinches and fades away if Cass returns her gaze too quickly. Her shoulders hunch a little as they keep walking.]

You're a warden. You can change that.

[As if that's all the reason in the world she shouldn't quit. There's also a hint of disdain for the warden title, but not at Cass herself. So far she likes Cass enough. Hates wardens.] Do you have text-to-speech capabilities on your communicator?

[It's easy to say these things because they're just facts, things Cass has been used to the idea of for a long time. And then Cass just shrugs and reaches into her pocket, fishes her comm out and just hands it over. It's a giant sign of trust, but Cass isn't worried. There's not much on her comm Cass wouldn't just tell people if they asked.]
