It's not your fault. [Charles is not Loki's biggest fan - telling everyone Tony was the monster wasn't exactly fun to listen to, considering what he did know about what Loki had done - but he does get how crummy it is to feel like if you'd only done something differently, maybe things would have changed for the better.]

I know. It just sucks. Lots of people say... I was best choice, for him. Not really sure... if that's true, but... where does it leave him, if it was?

I don't know. [There's no point in lying.] But what's important is you did what you could for him while he was here. That's more than plenty of people can say.
