[Cass has set the communicator up so it points at the large frozen lake in the CES and once she's sure it's recording, she grins and takes a few steps back.]

Watch this.

[Turning away, she runs for the lake and jumps onto the ice, sliding across on her feet. Apparently, she's not letting the lack of ice skates get to her. Once she comes to a stop, she turns back to the camera and starts her way back.]

It's fun! Everyone should... come try. Can let in inmates, if you promise... to be good.

(ooc: feel free to comment with spam if your character is a warden! Cass will let any inmate in so long as she can tell they're not there to cause problems.)

[She's delighted and earnest, and she absolutely means it, though part if her is afraid Cass won't believe her. She isn't used to anyone trusting her or even liking her.]

[That does look like fun, and Mal has a feeling the Admiral wouldn't give them a lake with thin ice. Not long after Cass airs her invitation he's there, bundled up with wool over leather over wool. He trudges up to the edge of the lake, boots crunching in the snow, and prods at the frozen surface with his toe like a swimmer testing the water temperature.] There room for two over there?

[Her skating is more a controlled slide than anything else, but it gets her where she's going at least. Once she's coming to a stop nearer him, she grins at him. Someone is having a lot of fun.]

Yes! It's safe. Tested. Jumped on lots.

[He grins back at her and steps solidly out onto the ice, then shuffles further toward the middle. He's dragging his feet, trying to build up the momentum for a good slide like hers but ending up with a little too much speed. He zooms past her with arms flailing.]

How're you supposed to stop?

[Adrian is touring the ship, and one of his stops is the CES while Cass is still there. He puts his hands in his pockets, enjoying her delight.] Are you sure you don't need skates?

[By then she's discovered sliding around on one foot and she's almost got jumping from one to the other mastered. There's still some wobbly bits, but at least she hasn't fallen in awhile. After one particularly less wobbly jump, she slides her way over toward Adrian.]

Don't have any.

We'll have to correct that. You'll get frostbite at this rate.

Pass. The only thing worse than water is thin ice. But hey, let me in and I'll watch. [Because you don't pass up certain opportunities. Like when someone says 'promise to be good'? That's always an opportunity for something big.]

[She's jumped all over the lake testing it out before suggesting people other than her give it a shot, but she won't push that. It makes perfect sense Selina wouldn't want to risk it. She is a cat, after all.]

Okay. There's a bench, you can sit. Cleared off the snow. Will be at door, waiting.

[Aw, Cass, this is why she likes you best. You get it.

And in a few moments she's there, kicking the door with her boot since her shoulder is still a little sore.]

[Merlin usually goes for a walk after his Infirmary shifts, although with the CES providing more wintry environments, he's not been lingering quite so long. Today he's wearing a winter cloak and hood over his regular clothes - he has a coat, but he doesn't like it much - and he's debating turning around and heading back when he finds Cass sliding around the frozen lake.

He hasn't seen her network post so this is just bewildering, mostly. The snow and frosted grass crunch under his boots as he makes his way to the lakeside.]

[She's in the middle of figuring out how to control her body while she's spinning in circles on the ice when she hears the sound of someone coming closer, but if they've gotten in on their own, it's just a warden and she's not very concerned with it.

Of course, when she hears Merlin's voice she immediately looks for him, which throws off her balance and has her pitching to the side precariously.]

Hi Merlin!

[She's pinwheeling, balanced on one foot, but in the end it's hopeless. She goes down in a controlled somersault, the momentum causing her to slide - on her butt, which is kind of embarrassing - right up to him, where she comes to a stop at his feet. Still, despite the fall, her smile hasn't dimmed, now when she's so pleased to see him.]

[He just grins and crouches down, pushing his hood back so he can see better. It was definitely a more graceful fall than he would have managed.]

Yes, thank you. Infirmary was quiet. [Always an unambiguously good thing, in his book. He'd rather have a shift that was boring because nobody had gotten hurt than one that was busy because they had.

He knows she doesn't need it, but he offers a hand to help her up.]
